Meeting Minutes

10/26/24
Chair Mary O’Shields called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: Donnie led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance
Minutes: Called for any changes to October minutes. Called for approval of minutes. Johnny Rickman made the motion. Glenda Huffine 2nd and all were in favor. October minutes were accepted.
Treasury Report: Karen Breton
Karen reported that as of the end of October 2024 and with ACT Blue contributions the ending balance is $7976.73.
Update: $355 collected at this meeting.
Chair Update: Mary O’Shields
Mary started the meeting by introducing officers, local candidates and new members to our meeting. She informed the group that we will be electing new committee members in the new year and to think of possible candidates. Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer will all be open, plus two delegates that represent the county at state DPA meetings and events.
Mary recognized Derek’s accomplishments as Chair of the DPBC with a plaque and thanked him for his work to the county.
Mary discussed the food donations from the October meeting to the Mtn.Home food basket and noted that it is a continued need for the Food basket and other donation groups as we enter the holiday season. There are many charitable organizations in need during the holidays and all year that help local families, including; Mtn.Home Food Basket, Toys for Tots, ASUMH food pantry, LT Thrift store at Mtn.Home High school and many more.
Announcements:
Reminder that the January Meeting has been moved to January 11. Joe Dillard will be speaking at that meeting.
